Why I Started TasiriSoul
(And Why It’s Not Just a Brand, It’s a Movement)
By La’Keshia aka TasiriSoul
Welcome. If you’ve landed here, it’s not by accident. You’ve been searching for something deeper on your wellness journey and something real. So have I.
I realized that mainstream wellness didn’t look like me. It didn’t sound like me, speak to my body, or honor my roots. The image was thin, white, and expensive. It felt performative instead of sacred. And honestly, it left me feeling more excluded than empowered, especially after suffering a back injury and being less mobile.
I created TasiriSoul because I was tired of fitting into someone else’s version of wellness.
Birthed from Pain…
TasiriSoul was birthed out of pain…chronic pain, emotional exhaustion, and spiritual burnout. After my back injury, I was surviving, not thriving. I knew something had to shift.
That shift came when I started reconnecting deeper with the wisdom of my ancestors. With this knowledge, I began crafting herbal teas that soothed more than just my body. I understood that healing is not a luxury inaccessible to us. It’s in our DNA.
TasiriSoul Was Born from That Understanding
The word “Tasiri” in Hausa speaks to influence, impact, and spiritual power. That’s exactly what this is. A reminder that our healing doesn’t have to mimic anyone else's. We don’t have to shrink, hustle, or conform to be well. We carry generations of medicine, prayers, and strength in our DNA. We have the power to influence and shape our own definition of wellness on our own healthy terms.
TasiriSoul was born from that knowing.
The deep ancestral call to remember who we are and how we heal.
This isn’t just a brand.
It’s my offering.
My rebellion.
My return to something that’s sacred and ours.
This Is Bigger Than Me. It’s a Movement
I’m here to create space for us. A space where Black women of all sizes and abilities seeking holistic wellness feel seen. Where our bodies are honored now and not later when they shrink, our traditions are uplifted, and our healing is sacred and personal.
This is a place to:
Learn about ancestral herbalism
Explore spiritual and emotional self-care
Reclaim our power through ritual, rest, and radical self-love
Decolonize what it means to be well
